200h Teacher Training FAQ
Application & Payment
What are the prerequisites or requirements to apply?
None! The Fyra Teacher Training is open to everyone - no prior teaching experience or minimum practice level required. If you love Fyra and feel called to share it, we’d love to hear from you.
Is there a deadline to apply for the September training?
Applications are rolling in and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to apply early. Our early bird deadline is April 15th, and full payment is due by July 1st.
What is the tuition, and are there early bird savings?
Early bird pricing is $2,999 if you register by April 15th. Standard tuition is $3,499. A 3-installment payment plan is available for June, July, and August.
Is the deposit refundable if I need to cancel?
The deposit is non-refundable, but any remaining payments made beyond the deposit are refundable should you need to cancel before July 1st.
Can I submit the application first and decide on the payment plan afterward?
Yes! You’re welcome to submit your application first and sort out the payment details afterward. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we’ll be in touch to discuss next steps including payment.
What payment plan options are available?
We offer a 3-installment payment plan (for the months of June, July, and August) to help make the training more accessible.
What happens to my current active membership during the training?
Your active membership will be frozen during the training and reactivated after it. During training, your YTT membership will allow you to register for the lectures as well as for regular classes at the studio.
Scholarships
Are there scholarship opportunities?
Yes! We are proud to offer three partial scholarships for the September 2026 cohort, each awarding 50% off tuition — bringing the total cost from $3,499 down to $1,500. Scholarship recipients can also use the 3-month installment payment plan.
What scholarships are available?
We offer one scholarship in each of the following categories:
- FYRA BIPOC Scholarship - open to applicants who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color
- FYRA LGBTQ+ Scholarship - open to applicants who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or another LGBTQ+ identity
- FYRA Community Scholarship - open to applicants who are experiencing financial hardship that would otherwise make participation inaccessible
Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?
Scholarships are open to all applicants to the September–November 2026 Fyra Teacher Training. Applicants may apply for one scholarship only. Eligibility is based on self-identification - no documentation is required. Scholarship recipients must meet all standard training enrollment requirements.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
To apply, select your interest in a scholarship at the time of your training application. You will then receive an email with a separate Scholarship Application Form to provide further information.
Applications are reviewed by our internal committee and recipients are selected based on the strength and sincerity of their statements.
When is the scholarship deadline, and when will I hear back?
Scholarship applications must be submitted by April 15th, in line with the early bird training application deadline. All applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision within two weeks of the deadline.
Are scholarships compatible with the payment plan?
Yes - scholarship awards are applied directly to tuition and are fully compatible with the installment payment plan.
Can I transfer my scholarship or apply it to a future cohort?
Scholarships are non-transferable and apply to the September 2026 cohort only. Fyra reserves the right to make final scholarship decisions at its discretion.
Location
Will the September training take place at the Williamsburg studio, the West Village location, or both?
The exact location for the September training is still being confirmed - we’ll have that information locked in shortly and will share it with all applicants as soon as it’s decided!
Training Structure
How many total hours is the training?
The training is 200 hours in total.
When does the training run?
The training runs September 17th through November 8th, 2026. Schedule is Thursdays and Fridays from 4–8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 7am–5pm.
Is attendance mandatory, and what happens if I miss a session?
Attendance is an important part of the experience. If you do need to miss a session, you can arrange a private make-up for up to 10 hours at an additional cost. Any missed hours beyond that would need to be made up at a future training cohort.
How much practice teaching is included, and is there structured feedback?
Practice teaching is a big part of the program - you can expect around 30 hours of hands-on teaching throughout the training. Feedback is built into the process, so you’ll receive guidance from instructors as you develop your teaching voice and skills.
What is the typical cohort size?
We keep cohorts intimate - a maximum of 50 trainees - so that everyone gets a quality experience and real attention from the teaching team.
Will there be assessments?
Yes — the training includes both written and practical assessments to help you consolidate your learning and ensure you feel confident stepping into teaching.
What do I receive upon completion?
Graduates receive a certificate of completion. Our training is also Yoga Alliance certified, so your hours count toward a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance certification.
Are there any additional costs outside of tuition?
Tuition covers everything you need for the training itself. There is a recommended reading list — books are great companions to the program if you’d like to go deeper. You will also need to bring:
- Yoga mat
- Journal and notepad
- A comfortable portable cushion or seat
- Water bottle
- Snacks and lunch/dinner depending on the day
Teaching & Career
Does completing the training mean I can teach Fyra at the studio?
Completing the training makes you eligible to apply to teach at Fyra! Graduates are welcome to audition and we love seeing our trainees go on to join the teaching community.
Is there mentorship or support after graduation?
Yes — we are still developing the post-training mentorship component, but there will be space and support available for graduates. This will most likely be an additional cost for mentorship, and we’ll confirm the details shortly
